Lessons with George DeVore — singer, songwriter and guitarist with three decades on Austin stages, from the Saxon Pub to Antone's. Learn the songs, write your own, and play them like you mean it.
One to one, built around what you want to play rather than a fixed syllabus. Bring a song you love, a riff you can't get, or a song of your own that isn't finished yet. George teaches guitar, songwriting, and the hard part in between: singing and playing at the same time.
Most people start with a half hour once a week. These are online rates; studio lessons are below.

Enquire about a lessonGeorge spent five years fronting Fat Bertha as lead singer and guitarist on the Midwest club circuit, then moved to Austin with a guitar and two phone numbers. He won Best Tape at the Austin Music Awards and has since placed in the top five for rock, pop and male vocalist. Playboy called him a "Pop-Powerhouse."
He has played the Saxon Pub, Stubb's and Antone's, played in the Paula Nelson Band, and released the albums Wonderland and Four Under Par and the EP Simple Things. He also works as a voice-over artist.
He teaches the way he plays: generous, patient, and all in. The school exists because he once gave a stuck guitar player in Austin a handful of lessons and asked for almost nothing in return. That player now runs the school.
